Friday’s demonstration was well attended even though the venue in the Mall Galleries was changed from main gallery to learning centre at the last moment.  This was so that people who attended could be seated.

David painted an 18” x 18” oil on Santa Maria della Salute in sunlight and shadow working on a prepared M.D.F panel.

A limited palette of Titanium White, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Raw Sienna, Venetian Red, Alizarin Crimson, Colbalt Violet, Colbalt Blue, Utramarine and Raw Umber was used for most of the painting with the addition of Winsor Emerald and Phthalo Blue being added for the final stage of the painting.

David and his wife, Stefanina would like to thank everyone who attended especially John, Penny and Mick and other members of the audience for the lively Q&A’s throughout the demo.
